Research Technician for HABITAS-GRAN Project

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
ISGlobal is seeking a research technician who is interested in taking over and managing activities of the project HABITAS-GRAN: Housing and health in older adults. The overall project goal is to measure indoor environmental quality indicators in social housing units in a sample of Barcelona senior residents, collecting data on their ventilation habits, health perceptions and wellbeing throughout different seasons and evaluating the effectiveness of a technological device for improving indoor air quality in households for this population group in particular.
This position will be covered by HABITAS-GRAN Project (23S04757-001), funded by Barcelona City Council in the framework of Pla d'Acció Emergència Climàtica 2030, 2023 call.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Direct contact with participants throughout their participation in the project.
- Duties related to the project fieldwork, including planning and execution of fieldwork.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
- Communication with participants (by phone) to set up visits and answer questions.
- Visits to homes of study to install sensors and solve potential technical problems related to the project.
- Managing environmental quality sensors (e.g. calibrate, set, reboot, download data, etc.) for the project in selected sites.
- Running the biological analysis in a selected subset of homes and common spaces.
- Data transference from paper-based or individual files to mother files for its analysis by the research team.
- Coordination with project PI and partners.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of/interest in environmental quality sensors and analysis.
- Experience in fieldwork campaigns with project participants.
- Background in environmental science/geography/sociology or related fields.
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
- Availability to work on fieldwork duties for the HABITAS-GRAN project.
LANGUAGE LEVEL
- Proficiency in Catalan and Spanish.
CONDITIONS
- Duration: 2-3 months
- Starting date: mid April - mid June 2025
- Contract Type: Part time
- Salary: According to ISGlobal internal salary scale

SELECTION PROCESS
The selection process is designed in two phases:
1- Interview phase of a technical nature, with the team that requires the incorporation. To assess the person's skills and CV.
2 - Meeting with HR with the finalist(s) to finish assessing the profile and discuss contractual and institutional issues.
If needed any technical test could be passed. A Psychological Competency Evaluation Test will be required for the structural or transversal positions.
In accordance with the OTM-R principles, a gender-balanced recruitment panel is formed for every vacancy at the beginning of the process. After reviewing the content of the applications, the panel will start the interviews, with at least one technical and one administrative interview. A profile questionnaire as well as a technical exercise may be required during the process.
