The Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal) is a cutting-edge institute addressing global public health challenges through research, translation into policy and education. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

ISGlobal is looking for a highly motivated Research Assistant to help in different tasks related to the research lines developed in the Plasmodium vivax and exosome research group (PVREX).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Working with long-term P. falciparum/P. knowlesi and short-term P. vivax in vitro cultures 
• Working with primary and immortalized cell lines
• Working with proteomics and transcriptomics
• Functional assays to identify receptors-ligands in malaria as mediated by extracellular vesicles

SPECIFIC DUTIES

• Assist in grant - writing

SKILLS

• Statistical analysis (graphpad prism)
• Imaging analysis (FlowJo, imageJ), 
• Genomics and proteomics software. 
• Basic knowledge of R for statistical analysis will be a pluswork.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

• Working with P. falciparum and P. vivax
• Experience in cell culturing cells
• Experience in FACS, confocal microscopy and high content imaging
• Experience in Proteomics/transcriptomics and bioinformatics analysis

LANGUAGE LEVEL

• Proficiency in English.

SELECTION PROCESS

The selection process is designed in two phases:
1- Interview phase of a technical nature, with the team that requires the incorporation. To assess the person's skills and CV.
2 - Meeting with HR with the finalist(s) to finish assessing the profile and discuss contractual and institutional issues.

If needed any technical test could be passed. A Psychological Competency Evaluation Test will be required for the structural or transversal positions.

In accordance with the OTM-R principles, a gender-balanced recruitment panel is formed for every vacancy at the beginning of the process.
