Research Technician for EChiLiBRiST Project

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
ISGlobal is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Technician to join our team to help conduct the economic evaluation of a prognostic tool for disease severity in Sub-Saharan Africa. The successful candidate will collaborate with partners of the H2020 ECHILIBRIST project, particularly the London School of Economics team leading the health economics work package. The chosen candidate will also work closely with the ISGlobal Health Economics Group. The salary will be determined based on the candidate’s skills and experience.
The ECHILIBRIST project aims to enhance child health outcomes by utilizing biomarkers for risk stratification and triage. It evaluates the performance of a point-of-care prognostic test to improve clinical decision-making for managing infections.
As part of this role, the candidate will contribute to various activities, including literature reviews and data analysis, supporting efforts to enhance care for children with febrile illnesses in Sub-Saharan Africa. Additionally, the candidate is expected to pursue an MSc in Economics in Barcelona within the framework of the ECHILIBRIST project.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Searching and synthesising the literature on the economics of prognostic tools in low income countries;
- Preparing databases (cleaning and checking for consistency) for data analysis and contributing to coding;
- Help team members oversee the implementation of data collection across countries, particularly Mozambique, involved in the study and ensure proper monitoring of data collection;
- Facilitate effective collaboration with project partners.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
- Prior experience in research related to health economics or economics of health in low-income countries;
- Familiarity with quantitative research methodologies, particularly with econometrics;
- Experience in conducting literature reviews;
- Excellent communication and writing skills in English, with experience in drafting scientific reports or manuscripts for publication. Knowledge of Portuguese is an advantage as Mozambique is one of the study countries;
- Ability to synthesise complex information and draw meaningful conclusions;
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team;
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor degree or higher in economics, social sciences, or a related field.

- Preferred: Strong proficiency in Spanish and Portuguese is an advantage.

SELECTION PROCESS
The selection process is designed in two phases:
1- Interview phase of a technical nature, with the team that requires the incorporation. To assess the person's skills and CV.
2 - Meeting with HR with the finalist(s) to finish assessing the profile and discuss contractual and institutional issues.
If needed any technical test could be passed. A Psychological Competency Evaluation Test will be required for the structural or transversal positions.
In accordance with the OTM-R principles, a gender-balanced recruitment panel is formed for every vacancy at the beginning of the process.
