Research Assistant

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
ISGlobal is seeking an Research Assistant who is interested in taking over and managing activities of the project Transforming data collection and surveillance around vaccination (including COVID-19) and key diseases in migrants in the MENA Region. This is a unique opportunity for a motivated researcher to contribute to the transformation of data collection around migrant health in Low-middle income countries and carrying out research that has social impact and responds to unmet medical needs.
The overall project goal is to develop, evaluate, and implement the Migrant Health Country Profile tool (MHCP-t) in specific sites in the MENA region (Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia and Sudan), an innovative digital tool that will facilitate the monitoring of key migrant health indicators to assess health needs and gaps in provision, improve health outcomes, and ensure they are included, particularly in the immediate COVID-19 vaccine response. MHCP-t will enable countries to drive data collection strengthening, facilitate cross-country comparisons, and ultimately to transform service delivery and policy making around migration and health.
This highly novel approach facilitates data collection around three health domains of relevance to migrant health: disease-specific data, policies and legal frameworks, and service provision, in areas of critical importance in migrant health: tuberculosis, HIV, viral hepatitis, malaria and neglected tropical diseases, vaccine-preventable diseases (including COVID-19) and non-communicable diseases.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Contribute to the advancement of evidence on migrant health through a systematic review and research synthesis.
- Facilitate effective collaboration with project partners to ensure consistency in methodologies and outputs.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
- Participate in the finalization of systematic reviews and contributing to the manuscript write-up
- Analyse and interpret research findings using appropriate qualitative methods, contributing to the overall objectives of the MENA Migrant Health project
- Prepare research outputs, including written reports, academic publications, and presentations for dissemination

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree or higher in public health, epidemiology, health sciences or related field.
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
- Prior experience in research related to migrant health
- Familiarity with qualitative research methodologies
- Experience conducting literature reviews and systematic reviews.
- Knowledge of the MENA region on a political, cultural and social level.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
LANGUAGE LEVEL
- Excellent communication and writing skills in English, with experience in drafting scientific reports or manuscripts for publication.
- Knowledge of Arabic is mandatory

- Duration: 12 months

- Contract Type: Part time
- Salary: Corresponding to 50% of the Technician II D level, which is 10,404€ gross annual (full-time equivalent: 20,808€ gross annual)

SELECTION PROCESS
The selection process is designed in two phases:
1- Interview phase of a technical nature, with the team that requires the incorporation. To assess the person's skills and CV.
2 - Meeting with HR with the finalist(s) to finish assessing the profile and discuss contractual and institutional issues.
If needed any technical test could be passed. A Psychological Competency Evaluation Test will be required for the structural or transversal positions.
In accordance with the OTM-R principles, a gender-balanced recruitment panel is formed for every vacancy at the beginning of the process. After reviewing the content of the applications, the panel will start the interviews, with at least one technical and one administrative interview. A profile questionnaire as well as a technical exercise may be required during the process.
