Fieldworker for INTERCAMBIO Project

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
ISGlobal is seeking a fieldworker who is interested in taking over and managing the fieldwork activities of the project INTERCAMBIO (Interventions to promote mental and physical health in changing working environments due to climate change, sustainable work practices, and in green jobs). INTERCAMBIO has received funding from the European Commission (101137149) under the call HORIZON-HLTH-2023-ENVHLTH-02-02 – “Evidence-based interventions for promotion of mental and physical health in changing working environments (post-pandemic workplaces)”. The fieldworker will work on a project that will assess exposure to heat in outdoor workers, evaluate the associated health effects, co-design with workers interventions to prevent those health effects, and implement and evaluate the effectiveness of the intervention.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Distributing biometric sensors to participants on a weekly basis (a new group each week).
- Ensuring correct use of the devices and providing support throughout the week.
- Following up with participants as needed
- Transferring sensor data to a computer and preparing the devices for the next group.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
- Programming the sensors at the beginning of each week.
- Distributing sensors to participants and ensuring they are used properly.
- Collecting the devices at the end of the week.
- Uploading data to the central server.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
- Master in Public Health, Epidemiology, Environmental Sciences, or similar areas.
- Experience in fieldwork in epidemiology studies and experience in citizen science and co-creation activities are also of value.
- Having a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle (desirable)
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
- Responsible, punctual, autonomous, and flexible.
- Strong social skills are essential. The candidate must be comfortable interacting with participants from diverse backgrounds, primarily male.
- Previous experience working with similar populations (e.g., male construction workers) is a plus.
- Experience handling biometric sensors and data transfer.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
- Self-motivation, eagerness to grow professionally and commitment to self- development
LANGUAGE LEVEL
- Proficiency in Spanish.
- Catalan highly desirable
- Knowledge of Darija or Urdu is an asset

- Salary: Technician II D (20.808€ gross annual)

SELECTION PROCESS
The selection process is designed in two phases:
1- Interview phase of a technical nature, with the team that requires the incorporation. To assess the person's skills and CV.
2 - Meeting with HR with the finalist(s) to finish assessing the profile and discuss contractual and institutional issues.
If needed any technical test could be passed. A Psychological Competency Evaluation Test will be required for the structural or transversal positions.
In accordance with the OTM-R principles, a gender-balanced recruitment panel is formed for every vacancy at the beginning of the process. After reviewing the content of the applications, the panel will start the interviews, with at least one technical and one administrative interview. A profile questionnaire as well as a technical exercise may be required during the process.
