Statistician position for the Socio- Environmental Determinants of Youth Health (YEAH!)

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
ISGlobal is looking for a statistician to work on the project “Youth Health from a Holistic Perspective (YEAH!)”, funded by the European Commission Horizon Europe RIA programme (Grant agreement ID: 101155977 under HORIZON-HLTH-2024-STAYHLTH-01-two-stage call).
The overall project goal is to co-create an innovative intervention using digital solutions to promote social interactions that empower children and adolescents to make lifestyle choices that benefit their health and well-being. The intervention will be personalized and designed to reach a large proportion of children and adolescents in the EU. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Dr. Carmen Peuters and Dr. Payam Dadvand and will collaborate with other YEAH! researchers across Europe specialized in epidemiology and child health.
ISGlobal is seeking a Master’s level statistician to work on the exposome statistical analysis of YEAH!. The technician will work in a cross-disciplinary team within the Environment and Health over the Life Course program as well as Climate, Air Pollution, Nature and Urban Health.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Working with multi-cohort exposome data to identify socio-environmental determinants of youth health behaviours and health together with other researchers.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
- Management, integration, and curation of multidimensional exposome, health, and clinical data used in YEAH!.
- Perform statistical analysis of multi-cohort exposome data
- Interpret and discuss the results with other team members
AUXILIAR TASKS
- Contribute to data cleaning and management
- Prepare data reports and help with preparing manuscripts
- Engage in international and interdisciplinary work
- Provide training and support to the teams for the execution and analysis of specific analyses

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
- Master in statistics, data science or related topics
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
- Previous expertise in maternal and child health research.
- Experience with database management software including R.
- Experience/knowledge in analysing complex multidimensional data using exposome methods.
- Motivated person capable of setting and meeting deadlines and delivering research outputs to the required standard.
- Strong team playing skills
LANGUAGE LEVEL
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken)
- Knowledge of Spanish and/or Catalan would be an asset.
CONDITIONS
- Duration: 18 months (with the possibility of extension pending successful evaluations).
- Starting date: July 2025
- Contract Type: Full time
- Salary: According to experience and internal salary scale

SELECTION PROCESS
The selection process is designed in two phases:
1- Interview phase of a technical nature, with the team that requires the incorporation. To assess the person's skills and CV.
2 - Meeting with HR with the finalist(s) to finish assessing the profile and discuss contractual and institutional issues.
If needed any technical test could be passed. A Psychological Competency Evaluation Test will be required for the structural or transversal positions.
In accordance with the OTM-R principles, a gender-balanced recruitment panel is formed for every vacancy at the beginning of the process. A profile questionnaire as well as a technical exercise may be required during the process.
