Biotechnologist for the EPHOR project

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
ISGlobal is looking for a biotechnologist who is interested in taking over and managing activities of the project EPHOR. The main objective of the EXPONIT study is to examine how environmental, lifestyle and work-place exposures impacts cardiovascular health, cardiometabolic health and aging. Of key interest is how exposure to light during the nighttime, and the corresponding circadian rhythm disruption, impacts health. This study will collect data on both participants who are engaged in night shift work and also a comparison group of participants who are day shift workers. We will collect data from participants using questionnaires, sensors (a series of environmental, chemical, activity and heart rate sensors), biological specimens and short interviews.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support on the analysis the immune markers data from the EPHOR study in relation to the night shift work and writing of the manuscript.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
- Experience in analysis of omics data
- Knowledge of statistical packages: R and STATA
- Experience in epidemiology

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor in biotechnology
- MSc in omics data analyses
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
- Experience in analysis of omics data
- Knowledge of statistical packages: R and STATA
- Experience in epidemiology
LANGUAGE LEVEL
- - Fluent in Spanish, Catalan and English required
CONDITIONS
- Duration: 4 months
- Starting date: 1st July 2025
- Contract: Part time (2 hours/week)
- Salary Range: Tec II C

SELECTION PROCESS
The selection process is designed in two phases:
1- Interview phase of a technical nature, with the team that requires the incorporation. To assess the person's skills and CV.
2 - Meeting with HR with the finalist(s) to finish assessing the profile and discuss contractual and institutional issues.
If needed any technical test could be passed. A Psychological Competency Evaluation Test will be required for the structural or transversal positions.
In accordance with the OTM-R principles, a gender-balanced recruitment panel is formed for every vacancy at the beginning of the process. A profile questionnaire as well as a technical exercise may be required during the process.
