WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
ISGlobal is seeking a statistician who is interested in taking over and managing activities of the projects in collaboration with Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm, Sweden regarding work on a population birth cohort as well as a database on health-related environmental surveillance. The overall project goal for the birth cohort is to investigate the development of asthma and allergies from infancy to adulthood. For the health-related environmental surveillance the overall project goal is maintaining a database to provide long-term monitoring of environmental factors that can affect human health in Sweden. The successful candidate will work under Josep Maria Antó in close collaboration with Swedish researchers at Karolinska Institutet.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Working with epidemiologic data from health databases both from a birth cohort as well as environmental factors together with other researchers.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
- Management, curation and development of databases.
- Perform statistical analysis.
- Interpret and discuss the results with other researchers in the projects.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
- Master in statistics, data science or related topics.
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
- Previous expertise in birth cohort research and especially regarding asthma and allergies.
- Experience with database management and statistical software including Stata and R.
- Motivated person capable of setting and meeting deadlines and delivering research output to the required standard.
- Strong team playing skills.
LANGUAGE LEVEL
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
- Knowledge of Swedish would be an asset.
CONDITIONS
- Duration: 5 months

- Contract Type: Part time (50%)

SELECTION PROCESS
The selection process is designed in two phases:
1- Interview phase of a technical nature, with the team that requires the incorporation. To assess the person's skills and CV.
2 - Meeting with HR with the finalist(s) to finish assessing the profile and discuss contractual and institutional issues.
If needed any technical test could be passed. A Psychological Competency Evaluation Test will be required for the structural or transversal positions.
In accordance with the OTM-R principles, a gender-balanced recruitment panel is formed for every vacancy at the beginning of the process.
