Associated Researcher for PAVE project

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
ISGlobal is looking for a motivated Associated Researcher to work on the PAVE project (Human Papillomavirus and Automated Visual Evaluation). The international PAVE project has received funding from the USNIH and MSF (doctors without borders – among other) and is also funded from internal ISGlobal funds. The Associated Researcher will work on a project that will examine the validation of cost/effective interventions to diagnose and manage preneoplastic lesions of the uterine cervix in low/resource settings participating already in PAVE. The candidate will be located in the EVOLVE (Environment and Health over the Lifecourse) program of ISGlobal that develops studies on both NCDs and infections and their prevention.
This project has not received funding from the European Union.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure effective translation of the PAVE program’s scientific findings into actionable strategies, policies, or clinical applications.
- Contribute to the program’s visibility and scientific impact through high-quality dissemination of results at conferences and in peer-reviewed journals.
- Advance the program’s research portfolio by securing competitive funding and fostering strategic collaborations.
- Strengthen and expand the stakeholder community in women’s health and cervical cancer screening to enhance knowledge exchange and policy uptake.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
- Coordinate the translational activities of the PAVE program, ensuring alignment between research outputs, clinical practice, and public health goals.
- Facilitate collaboration among research, clinical, and policy partners to promote the integration of scientific evidence into practice.
- Prepare and deliver presentations on project progress and findings at internal meetings, workshops, and international conferences.
- Lead or contribute to the drafting of scientific manuscripts reporting PAVE program results in high-impact journals.
- Identify and pursue new funding opportunities, including preparation of competitive research proposals and collaboration with national and international partners.
- Engage and expand the network of stakeholders in women’s health and cervical cancer screening through meetings, communications, and community-building activities.
- Contribute to the overall management and reporting of the PAVE program, ensuring timely delivery of milestones and deliverables.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
- PhD in Public Health, Epidemiology, or similar areas.
- MD would be an asset
- Experience in prevention on infections and cervical cancer in low-resource settings
- Self-motivation, eagerness to grow professionally and commitment to self-development
- Ability to establish and maintain a good working relationship with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
- Travel and short term stay in LMICs
LANGUAGE LEVEL
- Proficiency in English.

SELECTION PROCESS
The selection process is designed in two phases:
1- Interview phase of a technical nature, with the team that requires the incorporation. To assess the person's skills and CV.
2 - Meeting with HR with the finalist(s) to finish assessing the profile and discuss contractual and institutional issues.
If needed any technical test could be passed. A Psychological Competency Evaluation Test will be required for the structural or transversal positions.
In accordance with the OTM-R principles, a gender-balanced recruitment panel is formed for every vacancy at the beginning of the process.
