PostDoc for Public Health Liver Team

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The Public Health Liver Team is looking for a post-doc with expertise in liver health, particularly steatosis liver disease, as well as other metabolic conditions and nutrition. 
The chosen candidate will be at the forefront of liver health research by analysing social behavioural interventions, nutritional initiatives, digital interventions, and the use of innovative diagnostic tools, such as biomarkers and non-invasive testing, and prevention including lifestyle interventions. 
More specifically, the team is seeking a candidate with a strong background in nutrition and steatosis liver disease.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct robust research with a strong methodology in the field of liver disease;
 - Collect and analyse data, including literature searching and data analysis;
 - Project management tasks in research projects they are leading;
 - Take an active role in on-going and future research projects within the field of liver health including developing research proposals;
 - Supervise junior staff supporting the project they lead;
 - Lead in manuscript writing for publication in scientific journals and as conference abstract submissions;
 - Develop an understanding of the team strategy in developing new research lines associated with steatosis liver disease;
 - Take a proactive role in identifying grant opportunities for liver disease research;
 - Lead in the preparation and writing of research proposals;
 - Other duties as assigned, which may include attending scientific conferences and meetings and supervising junior staff.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
- Have a Doctoral degree with experience in the field;
 - Have expertise in liver health with specific knowledge of steatosis liver disease;
 - Have knowledge in care pathways related to metabolic health;
 - Have a good track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals;
 - Be willing to work in an inter-disciplinary team at a highly collaborative research institute.
 
LANGUAGE LEVEL
- Proficiency in English and Spanish.
 
CONDITIONS
- Duration: one year
 - Starting date: November 2025
 - Contract Type: Part time (60%)
 - Salary: Postdoctoral Fellow D (30.055€ gross annual)

SELECTION PROCESS
The selection process is designed in two phases: 
 1- Interview phase of a technical nature, with the team that requires the incorporation. To assess the person's skills and CV.
 2 - Meeting with HR with the finalist(s) to finish assessing the profile and discuss contractual and institutional issues.
If needed any technical test could be passed. A Psychological Competency Evaluation Test will be required for the structural or transversal positions.
In accordance with the OTM-R principles, a gender-balanced recruitment panel is formed for every vacancy at the beginning of the process.
