Technician Health Impact Assessment (HIA) Modeller

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The technician will perform health impact assessments (HIA) and burden of disease analyses across various Spanish contexts, utilizing innovative modeling and simulation techniques. The technician is familiar with environmental exposure modelling, particularly of exposures related to the urban environment (e.g. air pollution, noise, green space, heat) and has expertise in epidemiological health risk scaling and modelling. The technician is familiar with Global Burden of Disease (GBD) methodologies and concepts.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct quantitative analyses, including health impact assessments (HIA) and burden of disease evaluations.
Collaborate closely with colleagues on the development and management of studies and datasets, performing rigorous statistical, HIA and burden of disease analyses.
Engaging with stakeholders, authorities and peer researchers , as well as contributing to the dissemination and communication of research findings to ensure results are accessible and impactful.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrated motivation to engage in interdisciplinary and intersectoral work.
Excellent command of English, both written and oral.
Degree in Public Health or a closely related field.
Extended experience in health impact assessments, burden of disease analyses, and related modelling.
Proficient in managing and analyzing large datasets.
Skilled in programming using R and/or Python.
Strong abilities in scientific writing, reporting, and documentation.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Proven ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
Experience in quantitative data analysis and conducting health impact (HIA) and burden of disease assessments.
LANGUAGE LEVEL
Proficiency in English.

Salary: according to ISGlobal internal salary scale

SELECTION PROCESS
The selection process is designed in two phases:
1- Interview phase of a technical nature, with the team that requires the incorporation. To assess the person's skills and CV.
2 - Meeting with HR with the finalist(s) to finish assessing the profile and discuss contractual and institutional issues.
If needed any technical test could be passed. A Psychological Competency Evaluation Test will be required for the structural or transversal positions.
In accordance with the OTM-R principles, a gender-balanced recruitment panel is formed for every vacancy at the beginning of the process. After reviewing the content of the applications, the panel will start the interviews, with at least one technical and one administrative interview. A profile questionnaire as well as a technical exercise may be required during the process.
