WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
ISGlobal is seeking a highly motivated Project Manager & Social Scientist to lead both the operational management and the social science research implementation within the SMV Delivery project. This 42-month initiative, funded by EDCTP3, aims to identify the most effective strategies for administering malaria vaccine boosters in Mali and Guinea.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall coordination of the Work Package, ensuring project milestones are met while simultaneously leading qualitative and mixed-methods research to understand community responses and delivery feasibility.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & SPECIFIC DUTIES
Project Management: Lead the overall coordination of the Social Science & Economic Studies work package, managing timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
Research Leadership: Provide technical and methodological leadership in the implementation of sub-studies, focusing on qualitative research and oversight of mixed-method components.
Operational Oversight: Coordinate field data collection activities in Mali and Guinea, providing guidance to local teams and ensuring ethical compliance.
Analysis & Reporting: Lead data interpretation and the preparation of high-level technical deliverables for the EDCTP3 consortium.
Representation: Actively participate in consortium meetings, representing the work package and leading dissemination activities (manuscripts, policy briefs).

SKILLS
Strategic & Technical: Strong expertise in qualitative research combined with the ability to manage complex project cycles.
Leadership: Ability to manage multicultural and interdisciplinary teams across different countries.
Communication: Excellent writing and presentation skills for technical reporting and scientific dissemination.
Efficiency: Strong organizational and time management skills to handle both management and research tasks simultaneously.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Master’s degree (PhD preferred) in Anthropology, Sociology, Public Health, or a related social science field. Additional training in Project Management is highly valued.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in research and project management.
Proven experience leading qualitative research (interviews, focus groups) and data analysis.
Experience managing international research consortia and technical reporting for EU-funded projects.
Experience in developing research protocols and instruments.
LANGUAGE LEVEL
English: Advanced proficiency (spoken and written).
French: Working knowledge is a very strong asset given the project's focus in Mali and Guinea.
Spanish/Catalan: Knowledge of both is required.
CONDITIONS
Duration: 8 months (renewable based on project needs)

SELECTION PROCESS
The selection process is designed in two phases:
1- Interview phase of a technical nature, with the team that requires the incorporation. To assess the person's skills and CV.
2 - Meeting with HR with the finalist(s) to finish assessing the profile and discuss contractual and institutional issues.
If needed any technical test could be passed. A Psychological Competency Evaluation Test will be required for the structural or transversal positions.
In accordance with the OTM-R principles, a gender-balanced recruitment panel is formed for every vacancy at the beginning of the process. After reviewing the content of the applications, the panel will start the interviews, with at least one technical and one administrative interview. A profile questionnaire as well as a technical exercise may be required during the process.
