Project manager - Climate Action to Advance Healthy Societies in Europe

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
ISGlobal is looking for a project manager full-time to join the research group of Cathryn Tonne, focused on climate action and health within the Climate, Air Pollution, Nature and Urban Health research program and to contribute to two large projects. The first project is CATALYSE, coordinated by ISGLOBAL and funded by the Horizon Europe research and innovation programme. CATALYSE focuses on the influence of climate change induced environmental hazards on human health. The Project Manager will be responsible for coordinating activities, fulfilling administrative requirements, communications with the partners and within the ISGlobal team and also for external communications with the funders. He/She will be responsible for coordinating the scientific and financial annual and final reports and deliverables.
The second Project is European Regional Centre of the Lancet Countdown for Climate and Health where the Project Manager will be responsible for organising events and coordinating stakeholder engagement activities and supporting policy translation activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Management of the partners
Preparation and coordination of meetings (Project Team, Climate and Health Cluster, Cluster and Consortium partners, contributing experts)
Agenda and minutes writing
Follow up on action items within the team and with partners
Assist coordinator and partners in preparation and submission of scientific and financial reports
Execute project within agreed budget and timeline
Participation in the elaboration and submission of official reports (progress, annual, final) and associated publications
Regular follow up of budget with ISGlobal Grants Manager, contribute to financial reporting
Follow up with partners on implementation of actions and budget
Monitoring of progress and deviations from project timetable
Ensure constant communication with and reporting to the funding institution
Ongoing communication and participation in meetings with the funding institution when requested
Preparation of technical reports ensuring on-time submission, preparation of amendments
Communicate requests from funding institution to appropriate partners
Logistical / administrative aspects
Coordinate project meetings and events
Arrange project-related travels for the team / participants
Coordinate and provide support for the purchase of project materials
Provide support to project implementation
Arrangement and follow up of project-related documentation and contracts

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
University degree (equal to 4 years of college) or equivalent. Master in Public Health or other relevant subject will be positively evaluated.
Experience in managing EU-funded research projects highly desirable.
Strong organisational skills for multi-tasking daily work, used to work in a goal-oriented approach, and strong attention to detail.
Strong communication skills both written and spoken.
Problem solving skills.
Team player with the ability to play different roles within the team
Excellent computer skills: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, project mangement software, etc.
Ability to establish and maintain a good working relationship with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.

CONDITIONS
Contract: 2 years, full time (40 hours per week)
Salary: 30-37k gross annual
Work-Life Balance: 36 days off per year (23 vacation days + 13 personal days)
Start date: July 2026

SELECTION PROCESS
The selection process is designed in two phases:
1- Interview phase of a technical nature, with the team that requires the incorporation. To assess the person's skills and CV.
2 - Meeting with HR with the finalist(s) to finish assessing the profile and discuss contractual and institutional issues.
If needed any technical test could be passed. A Psychological Competency Evaluation Test will be required for the structural or transversal positions.
In accordance with the OTM-R principles, a gender-balanced recruitment panel is formed for every vacancy at the beginning of the process.
