Data Manager for the Maternal, Child and Reproductive Health Initiative & Biostatistics and Data management Unit

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking to fill a hybrid data manager role in collaboration with the Maternal, Child and Reproductive Health Initiative and the Biostatistics and Data Management Unit.
Within the Maternal, Child and Reproductive Health Initiative, the successful data manager will - in collaboration with other members of the data management team- plan, coordinate, supervise and give support on research data management activities related to the projects in the Maternal Child and Reproductive Health Initiative.
Within the Biostatistics and Data Management Unit, the successful candidate will join the team of data managers responsible for supporting various research projects throughout the stages of data collection, processing, storage, curation and dissemination.
They will also form part of the team of data managers responsible for a major research cohort, ensuring the highest standards are maintained so that the accumulated data can be used in subsequent research projects as required.
They will also form part of the team responsible for developing AI tools to facilitate data collection and interpretation, with a particular focus on the most disadvantaged regions.
This position will be supported by funding from the “Centro de Excelencia Severo Ochoa 2024-2028” Program (CEX 2023-0001290-S) from the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation, and the Spanish Research State Agency (MCIN/AEI/10.13039/501100011033).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Define, maintain and execute the Data Management Plan (DMP) and Data Validation Plan (DVP) for each research project at Initiative according to the study protocols, the context of each of the implementing partners and specific regulations and/or good practices.
Design and maintain electronic data collection instruments according to the study Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Case Report Forms (CRF).
Setup or support the data Quality Assurance and Control (QA/QC) mechanisms (data quality rules) to validate incoming data according to the DVP.
Write specific data management SOP based on the electronic Case Report Form (eCRF) and the data QA/QC tools in place.
Code scripts to produce routine progress and data quality reports to inform the team on the status of the data collection activities and address data quality issues.
Train implementing partners on the eCRF and data QA/QC tools according to the defined data management SOP.
Support implementing partners on electronic data collection tools during data collection activities.
Supervise data collection progress and quality and work closely with counterparts (projects teams based in Africa countries) to address and resolve data quality issues.
Prepare data reports about specific queries coming from the team or external.
Administer the Clinical Data Management Systems (CDMS) and administer, with support from the Biostatistics and Data Management Unit), the data architecture and servers where the CDMS are hosted.
Provide support to the Epidemiological team with writing project documents.
Work with the Biostatistics and Data Management Unit on the studies data curation and archival.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
Degree / master in bioinformatics or similar background
Interest in development, medical research, global health
Experience 6 or more years
Ability to be a team player
Availability to travel to project sites
LANGUAGE LEVEL
Proficiency in English and Spanish.
CONDITIONS
Contract: Full time position
Salary: According to ISGlobal internal salary scale
Work-Life Balance: 36 days off per year (23 vacation days + 13 personal days)
Start date: as soon as possible

SELECTION PROCESS
The selection process is designed in two phases:
1- Interview phase of a technical nature, with the team that requires the incorporation. To assess the person's skills and CV.
2 - Meeting with HR with the finalist(s) to finish assessing the profile and discuss contractual and institutional issues.
If needed any technical test could be passed. A Psychological Competency Evaluation Test will be required for the structural or transversal positions.
In accordance with the OTM-R principles, a gender-balanced recruitment panel is formed for every vacancy at the beginning of the process.
